H.S. Boys Basketball: Late free throws seal Wyoming Seminary victory over Hanover Area

Blue Knights top Hanover Area 61-53

By John Erzar

KINGSTON — Everytime Wyoming Seminary seemed ready to pull away Tuesday night, it couldn’t.

Hanover Area was part of the reason at times. But at others, it was the Blue Knights themselves.

Seminary eventually shook free of Hanover Area thanks to solid free-throw shooting down the stretch for a 61-53 victory in a Wyoming Valley Conference interdivisional game.

The Hawkeyes pecked at the deficit throughout the fourth, cutting Seminary’s lead to 53-45 on a three-point play by Tyler Diggs at 1:02. Seminary’s free-throw shooting took over from there.

Diggs led Hanover Area with 17 followed by Brandon Chafin with 12.
